Oldie But Goodie

I’m not the type to hold a grudge, but I quit a job several years ago because I felt like I was being undervalued and taken advantage of as a woman, but specifically, as a woman of color. I was blatantly passed over for a promotion for a white man who hadn’t done HALF of the work I was doing at the time. I was told that he was a “must promote” before the end of the year, so I told them I was a “must quit” before the end of the year, and I did just that.

Fast forward about 7 years, there is a white woman who has the title I should have had all these years back, with very mediocre credentials… and do you want to know how I know… she wants to link with me on Linkedin. Which also means to me, that she believes I am someone she should know and who could also be a resource for her later down the line.
